Eco Friendly Clothes - Tencel Textiles And Fabrics
What Are Sustainable Fabrics?
Sustainable fabrics are often made from natural or recycled materials, aiming to reduce harm through the production process, fiber properties, or overall environmental impact. These fabrics can also contribute to the reduction of waste, water conservation, lowered carbon emissions, and soil regeneration. Just as sustainability is a moving target, so are fabrics.

How Sustainable Is Eucalyptus Fabric?
Eucalyptus trees are not just as medicinal remedies for us-it turns out that they can also be used to create a versatile fabric which is breathable, absorbent, and soft. Eucalyptus fabric is often described as a sustainable alternative to conventional cotton, they are felled rather than uprooted, meaning that there is no need to continuously plant new trees. They also grow quickly, don’t need irrigation or pesticides, and can grow in relatively poor, dry, and rocky soil.
Clothes derived from eucalyptus trees are typically made from lyocell fabric, also known as Tencel.
How Is Tencel Fabric Made?
Tencel is a type of rayon. This fiber is made by dissolving wood pulp and using a special drying process called spinning. Before drying, the eucalyptus wood is harvested cut into pieces, mixed with aamine oxide to produce a wet mixture. This mixture is then pushed through small holes to form threads, chemically treated, then the lengths of fibre are spun into yarn and woven into cloth. When compared to conventional cotton, the lyocell production process used 50% less water. It doesn’t release toxic microfibers-a significant advantage over synthetic fabrics-and is recyclable and biodegradable.
Advantages Of Tencel Fabric
1. Tencel fabric not only has strong moisture absorption, but also has the strength that ordinary fibers do not have.
2. Tencel fabric is drape and has good stability. It does not shrink easily after washing.
3. Tencel fabric has good feel and luster, and the luster is better than cotton.
4. Tencel has the smooth and elegant characteristics of silk.
5. Good air permeability and moisture absorption are also the main characteristics of Tencel fabrics.
6. Tencel fabric is naturally antifungal, and antimicrobial properties
Tencel Care Instructions

Do not se chlorine bleach as it can weaken fibers and cause them yellow prematurely
If white fabrics need bleaching use oxygen-based bleach
Drying
Using large dryer with low heat cycle is required
Never use a high heat setting or over dry
Shake out the damp comforter before placing in the dryer
Remove from the dryer promptly while slightly damp to minimize winkles
